Meet Stephanie Greenwood from Bubble and Bee: Stephanie began working in a Biology lab at 14, and started taking advanced Chemistry classes at the University of
Utah at 16. But it wasn’t until she was 26 that she learned that the thousands of chemicals around her in personal care products like
parabens, phlalates, and artificial fragrance could be causing some of her health problems, like hormonal imbalances and asthma. She diligently sought safer alternatives, but none of them lived up to her standards of purity. She found out that many products had hidden ingredients. So, she decided to make her own products using simple, organic ingredients.

A year and a half later she enlisted the help of her long-time friend and
business partner, Steve Thomas. Steve took some convincing -- he had never used organic anything before! She persisted and it paid off.

Their goal is to inform others about the importance of staying away from
the dangerous chemicals in our world of fancy products with entrancing colors and fragrances. In addition to making and selling products, they’re busy working on an extensive website with a database of cosmetic chemicals, articles, a blog about recent health and beauty news, and informative videos.



Review: I had a chance to try out their Geranium Lime 'Pit Putty Deodorant Stick ($8.95). It might be a little pricier than most of the deodorants on the market today, but it is a price that I'm willing to pay since it actually works! Plus, it is the cheapest I have found so far for an organic deodorant. It is not an antiperspirant. Therefore, it doesn't prevent me from sweating at times. However, there is never an odor. The Pit Putty is blended with organic arrowroot powder, organic coconut oil, organic lime essential oil, organic geranium essential oil. It smells fantastic! All you have to gently swipe it on or take a tiny pinch of the putty and rub it on - whatever works best for you! I also like the fact that it doesn't clog pores, irritate the skin and contain any unnecessary chemicals that most traditional deodorants contain. They also have the Original Pit Putty that is ideal for men and women. I highly recommend this line if you're wanting to organic with your deodorant.
