John Dorsey is the creative founder behind Flexi 8. He has been in the hair goods business since 1992 when his wife wanted her first pair of beaded chopsticks. Inspired by the expensive ones sold at Nordstrom, John started making them himself in his garage. Admiring friends immediately bought them, and suppliers referred them to major retailers nationwide. Several million pairs later, everlasting success was almost assured.

Trials and tribulations ensued, the product line expanded and contracted. Things got tougher for them after the 9/11. John's wife finally had enough and sent him into the garage with instructions to, "pull out some of your old beads and wire, make something and go sell it.... now or else!" All husbands know what "or else" means. Needless to say, Flexi 8 was born.
