Chasing a toddler and working almost non-stop often leaves me worn out by the end of the day. When it's time to sleep, I can't seem to unwind enough to relax and fall asleep easily. Even though I was a bit cynical about how effective this sound system would be, I was eager to give it a try.

I received the special edition system in Bronze. There is also a blue variation. Both versions work the same and include the Sound Oasis Sleep Relaxation Wellness Sound Card. This sound card includes 12 different sounds - Energy Chimes, Tranquility, Alpha Clouds, Sleep Surf, Delta Voyage, Dream Echoes, Ocean Surf, Gentle Rain, Stream, White Noise, Forest and Thunderstorm. My favorite sounds are the Energy Chimes, Tranquility and Thunderstorm.

After using this system, I cannot imagine a night without it. I'm often lulled into a blissful slumber for over 6 hours without waking up in the middle of the night. The sounds are so therapeutic and relaxing that sometimes I use this when I'm working to keep my home office a relaxing environment while being able to focus on the job more as well.

I also received the Sound Oasis Sounds for Baby Sound Card ($24.99), which is sold separately. I thought this would be perfect for my son since he often has trouble sleeping at night, but it wouldn't work for some reason. I'm not sure if I received a bad sound card or what, but I'll post future updates if I am able to get it to work.

The S-650 also features a backlit alarm clock, which allows users to wake to a buzzer or any sound. Their patented Sleep Enhancement® technology features a slow down sound playback to lull users to sleep, a multi-position timer (with 4 selections: continuous, 30, 60, and 90 minutes), a unique "gradual off" volume reduction feature for a peaceful decrease in sound volume, a headphone/speaker pillow jack, a one-touch off/ resume button that stops the unit or repeats your last played sequence, and an omnidirectional reflective speaker that projects sound from the back of the unit for rich, deep sound.
