To create their Signature Collection fragrance, Bath & Body Works distilled the seductive mystery if Black Amethyst into the brand's first ever chypre scent. Other famous top-note hitters that include chypre in their perfume are Aromatics Elixir by Clinique, Chanel No. 5, and YSL Y by Yves Saint Laurent.



John Gamba, Master Perfumer at Givaudan, created Black Amethyst with head turning confidence and palpable femininity in mind. I received a sample of the Black Amethyst Body Lotion and Black Amethyst Eau de Toilette. I honestly was'nt for sure if I would like this or not since I'm very picky with perfume no matter who is behind the brand. This is one of best fragrances, if not the best fragrance I've tried from Bath & Body Works. I've heard a lot of mixed reviews, but I'm not into the hype and I can honestly say this fragrance smells like what one of the higher end brands would put out. It is very sexy in a sophisticated demure kind of way.
